Katadyn Group acquired by a group of entre­pren­eurs led by Kontivia

Katadyn Group, a Swiss-based spe­cial­ist in port­able water fil­ters and trekking food, has been acquired by a group of entre­pren­eurs led by Kontivia, a long-term, down-to-earth investment company and invests together with selected entrepreneurial families in established medium- sized companies in Switzerland and southern Germany. The acquisition was consummated through Bifolia Holding which was renamed in Katadyn Group following the closing of the transaction. 

The majority shareholder of Katadyn Holding, Adrian Schmassmann, and the key management of the Katadyn group will also participate in Katadyn Group. Adrian Schmassmann will also take a seat on the Board of Directors of Katadyn Group.

Advestra acted as leg­al coun­sel to the sellers. The team included Beda Kaufmann (pictured above), Thomas Reut­ter, Annina Ham­mer, Sandro Fehl­mann and Anna Capaul (all cor­por­ate/ m&a) and Laurent Ried­weg (tax).

Kellerhals Carrard acted as legal advisor to the investors and Kontivia on this transaction. The team was led by partner Nicolas Mosimann (pictured left) and comprised associates Sophie Holdt, Kevin MacCabe and Jon Oetiker (all corporate/m&a), Marco Sibod (tax), Daniel Staehelin (notary) and Melanie Huber (employment).
