Kellerhals Carrard advises Gassmann Group on its share sale

The Gassmann Group is expanding its shareholding. Fredy Bayard has sold half of its capital to Bernese entrepreneur Stefan Niedermaier. The Groupe is thus underlining its long-term goal of remaining an independent media company anchored in the region. In order to further drive the digital transformation, the Gassmann Group strengthens its shareholder base with Stefan Niedermaier, who has been the majority shareholder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of DV Bern, a company specialising in software solutions and IT services, since 2011.

The 170-year-old Gassmann Group, based in Biel, publishes Ajour, Bieler Tagblatt, Le Journal du Jura, Canal 3 and TeleBielingue and employs 230 people.

Kellerhals Carrard has advised Fredy Bayard and Groupe Gassmann on this transaction. The team was composed by partner Thomas Bähler (corporate/m&a, pictured), counsel Kathrin Enderli (corporate/m&a) and Michèle Remund (partner, tax).
