Kuehne & Nagel sells major part of its UK contract logistics portfolio

Kuehne & Nagel International entered into a definitive agreement to sell a major part of its UK contract logistics portfolio to Xpo Logistics. The scope of the transaction includes the drinks logistics, food services and retail & technology businesses. The transaction – it is written in a press release – is in line with the Kuehne & Nagel’s strategy of selling its non-core assets, improving its effectiveness and concentrating on essential, accessible solutions.

Macfarlanes acted as legal advisor to Xpo Logistics. The team was lead Charles Martin (pictured) and included Harry CoghillMalcolm Walton, Tom Rose (all corporate), Kirstie Hutchinson (financing), Sean Lavin (employment), Matt McCahearty, Tom Usher (competition) and Jeremy Moncrieff (tax).
Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz assisted Xpo Logistics. The team included Adam EmmerichViktor Sapezhnikov (all corporate) and  Franco Castelli (competition).
