L&R acquires OnlineDoctor: the advisors
German firm Lohmann & Rauscher (L&R), a global provider of medical devices and services, completed the acquisition of Swiss teledermatology company OnlineDoctor AG (OnlineDoctor) .
In connection with the transaction, Baker McKenzie advised OnlineDoctor and its shareholders, while Bär & Karrer represented L&R.
Both parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price of the transaction.
With the companies now embarking on a post-merger integration phase, collaboration between them on new applications within L&R’s business areas has already started. Pursuant to the transaction, OnlineDoctor will keep operating as a subsidiary company under its current name, with its founders continuing as managing directors and shareholders.
The parties
Founded in 2016, Teledermatology specialist OnlineDoctor partners with about 800 dermatologists and serves over 300 pharmacies and hospitals in Switzerland. The company’s operations spans both its Swiss homeland and the neighboring Germany, where it collaborates with over 60 health insurance companies.
Rengsdorf and Vienna-headquartered L&R is a global supplier of medical devices and hygiene products. The German company employs 5,400 people, managing operations across 120 countries. At the end of the 2024 financial year, L&R reported sales revenues of EUR 812.7 million.
