Lukas Studer: new Group General Counsel at Holcim
Lukas Studer, general counsel corporate and M&A, is appointed group general counsel at Holcim, effective 1 November 2024. He succeeds Mathias Gaertner, who will be joining ABB as as new General Counsel and Company Secretary and a Member of the Executive Committee after ensuring a smooth transition.

Lukas Studer joined Holcim in 2008 and has been General Counsel Corporate and M&A since 2017, supporting corporate, finance and M&A. As the lead lawyer in the execution of Holcim’s fast-paced growth and portfolio transformation, he played an essential role in the company’s successful M&A strategy, with more than 100 transactions closed in the last five years.
This leadership transition is part of a broader global strategy of appointments, including Jaime Hill, currently country CEO of Mexico, who has been appointed Region Head of North America, effective immediately, and Carmen Diaz, currently country CEO of Spain, who will assume the role of Chief People Officer, effective 1 October 2024.
