Niederer Kraft Frey, Tavernier Tschanz and some Python partners united

Niederer Kraft Frey, a Zuric-based law firm, joins forces with Geneva firm Tavernier Tschanz and a team from Python. From 2023, they will form in Zurich and Geneva one of the most important national law firms.

By combining the strengths of the different teams, NKF will further expand its leading position within Switzerland two economic centres: the lake of Geneva and the Greater Zurich Area and anchor itself even more strongly in the market. The firm will occupy in Geneva, from the beginning of 2023 and after renovation, an entire building at 8 place de l’Université, in the historic center of the city.

As of January 2023, NKF will offer its national and international clients high quality services and advice under a single umbrella in Geneva and Zurich, in all key areas of business law: corporate/m&a, capital markets, banking, finance and financial services regulatory, private equity/venture capital, litigation/arbitration, technology/IP, real estate, employment, investigations, tax and private clients. NKF stands for innovation in its services and legal developments. The new set-up will allow NKF to further consolidate its position in the technology and life science sectors more particularly.

NKF will benefit, in its new configuration, from the experience of its 48 partners and 140 lawyers, and will employ a total of around 220 employees. In Geneva they will initially have around thirty lawyers, thus occupying a leading position in the market from the outset, with one of the largest and most renowned corporate and mergers and acquisitions teams in the market, as well as a highly experienced litigation/arbitration team. It will be managed by 11 partners: Jacques Bonvin, Nicolas de Gottrau, Myriam Fehr-Alaoui, Phidias Ferrari, Benjamin Humm, Marc Iynedjian, Nicolas Kuonen, Karim Piguet, Frank Spoorenberg, Boris Vittoz and Andrea Wuerzner. Pierre-Yves Tschanz, co-founder of Tavernier Tschanz, will also join the firm as an advisor.
