NKF advised Coop on the acquisition of Jumbo from Maus Frères SA

Niederer Kraft Frey (NKF) advised Coop on the acquisition of Jumbo from Maus Frères SA. Lenz & Staehelin acted as lead counsel to Maus Frères in this transaction (see here).

Completion of the transaction is subject to customary closing conditions.

Coop is a leading retailer and wholesaler in Switzerland. It operates in the food, non-food and service sector and has with approximately 2’500 sales outlets the densest network of sales outlets in Switzerland which comprises supermarkets, specialist formats and online-shops. Coop employs around 91’000 employees.

Jumbo is the second largest do-it-yourself (DIY) store operator in Switzerland, providing for 40 stores and employing around 1’500 employees.
