NKF advises EMZ on the acquisition of five Weka companies

Niederer Kraft Frey has advised private equity firm EMZ Partners and its portfolio company Aspire Education Group, a privately operated education group in the German-speaking region, as Swiss counsel on the acquisition of five WEKA Group companies in Switzerland and Germany. The combination will create a leading educational group with a focus on adult education in the DACH region.

The NKF team was led by corporate/m&a partners Roman Sturzenegger (pictured left) and Moritz Maurer (pictured right), working with counsel Janine Reudt-Demont (Data Protection), senior associate Simon Bühler (regulatory), associate Ivo Milanesi (employment) and junior associate Niklaus Hatz (corporate/m&a).

Latham & Watkins acted as lead counsel to EMZ Partners and Aspire Education Group. The firm regularly advises EMZ on transactions, including the acquisition of a majority stake in Aspire Education in December 2022.
