Sandrine Giroud: Geneva’s Bar Association new President

For the second time in its long history, a woman has been elected president of the Geneva Bar Association. As announced by Lalive, Sandrine Giroud’s (pictured), partner at the firm, the mandate is effective immediately and will last for two years.

Giroud replaces Miguel Oural and will be flanked by Daniel Kinzer (vice president), Alexia Raetzo and Rocco Rondi (members of the Bar’s council), Philippe Jacquemoud and Roxane Sheybani
(reelected members of the Bar’s Council).

The Profile

Giroud, who specializes in international and domestic ligation and has been an active member of the Bar for years, has been working with Lalive for over 14 years.

Commenting on her newest professional challenge she stated: “My priority is to continue helping our members successfully navigate the multi-faceted challenges that we face, including the ever-changing regulatory landscape, the adoption of new technology by our clients and our own firms, and the increasingly competitive legal market.”

A brief history

Founded in 1895, Geneva Bar Association is a non-profit organization counting over 2200 members in over 500 firms. Its main purpose is to defend and represent the interests of most Swiss and foreign lawyers and trainee lawyers practising in the canton.
