Sevensense Robot­ics completes USD 7.7m Series A Financing Round

Sevensens Robot­ics has raised its Series A investment of USD 7.7 million, led by ABB Technology Ventures, which is expected to close by the end of November 2021. Sevensense Ronotics is a Swiss-based start-up foun­ded in 2018 as a spin-off from ETH Zurich. The company specialises in AI and 3D Vision technology for autonomous mobile robotics and is active in the material handling and professional cleaning industries.

The stra­tegic part­ner­ship between ABB and Sev­en­sense Robot­ics aims to enhance ABB’s new autonom­ous mobile robot­ics (AMR) offer­ing with arti­fi­cial intel­li­gence (AI) and 3D vis­ion map­ping technology.

Advestra acted as leg­al coun­sel to ABB. The team con­sisted of partner Daniel Raun (pictured left), associate Anna Capaul and junior associate Mar­lon Ber­to­lini (all cor­por­ate/m&a).

Walder Wyss, whose startup-desk supported Sevensense Robotics since its incorporation, advised on all legal aspects of this financing round. The team was led by Florian Gunz Niedermann (partner, corporate/m&a, pictured right) and further included Timon Nydegger (associate, corporate/m&a), Livia Häberli (trainee, corporate/m&a) and Michael Isler (partner, IP/IT & data protection).
