Kellerhals Carrard advises Bloom on its JDA with Firmenich

Bloom Biorenewables, a start-up that creates molecules from biomass, has partnered with the Swiss-Dutch company DSM-Firmenich. This firm resulted from the merger, in May 2023, of two multinationals: a Geneva-based flavorings and perfumes giant, Firmenich, and DSM, a Batavian specialist in cosmetics, well-being and nutrition. The signature of a Joint Development Agreement (JDA) will accelerate the commercialization of 3 key molecules from Bloom’s product portfolio and will provide a solid framework for future synergies ahead. Bloom develops innovative solutions to deconstruct biomass and to help the reduction of carbon footprint around the Globe.

Kellerhals Carrard IP expert attorney Virginie A. Rodieux (senior associate, pictured left) and M&A partner Alexandre Gachet (pictured right) assisted Bloom in this important step ahead for the company.
