Argo Group sold its Italian Business to Philantra: the advisors

Argo Group, an underwriter of specialty insurance products in the property and casualty market, signed a sale agreement of its Italian operations (ArgoGlobal Assicurazioni) to the Swiss group Philantra. The deal is subject to customary regulatory approvals.

The cross-border Hogan Lovells team advising Argo Group was led in Italy by corporate partner Francesco Stella with the support from counsel Silvia Lolli, (regulatory insurance), senior associate Martina Di Nicola (corporate), counsel Serena Pietrosanti (tax) and senior associate Maria Cristina Conte (tax). The UK team was led by corporate partner Jonathan Russell with the support from Catherine Lah, Eustace WillAaron Burchell, and Adela Komorowska. The Hogan Lovells team was advised by Walder Wyss for Swiss law issues and collaborated closely with Argo Group’s in-house team led by Stewart Muirhead, Head of Legal UK and EMEA.
