Caroline Gaul becomes Legal Partner at MME

Caroline Gaul has been appointed Legal Partner at MME as of 1 January 2023. She advises national and international companies in the area of technology, IT and data law. Caroline Gaul’s main areas of practice include data protection compliance under the GDPR and Swiss law, advising on IT contract law and assisting with contract negotiations, as well as supporting cloud and other outsourcing projects. A particular focus of her work is the design of data-based, digital business models and platform solutions, as well as ongoing advice on these.

Gaul has been advising on Swiss law since 2015 and also has many years of professional experience as a German lawyer in a larger commercial law firm in Frankfurt am Main. She acquired in-depth industry knowledge in the IT sector through several in-house secondments at a global software group. In Switzerland she worked as senior associate at Walder Wyss and CMS, in Zurich.

Caroline Gaul is vice-chair of the German Society for Law and Informatics (DGRI) and co-president of the Swiss IT Lawyers’ Day. In addition, Caroline Gaul regularly publishes and speaks on topics in the field of tech, data and digitalisation and provides an overview of current topics in a podcast.

Gaul is a member of the Bar Association of Frankfurt am Main and, pursuant to Art. 28 of the Federal Bar Act, is registered on the public list of nationals of member states of the EU or EFTA who are permanently permitted to be parties before judicial authorities in Switzerland under their original professional title.
