Philippe Gilliéron joins BMG Avocats as a partner

Philippe Gilliéron (pictured) will join BMG Avocats as a partner on 1 October 2024. A recognised specialist in intellectual property, digital law, data protection and artificial intelligence, Philippe Gilliéron is also a professor of law at the Universities of Lausanne and Fribourg and has extensive experience in these strategic areas. He will be working alongside Anne-Virginie La Spada to strengthen the Intellectual Property department and will work towards developing a department specialized in innovation and digital law, as stated on his LinkedIn profile.

His arrival marks a new stage for BMG Avocats, strengthening the firm’s ability to support its clients in sectors undergoing rapid technological and legal changes.

Philippe Gilliéron’s career path

With a career spanning over two decades, Gilliéron is the founder and independent practitioner at Gilliéron Avocat, where he has been practicing since July 2024. He also serves as a Professor of Law at both the University of Fribourg and Lausanne University Law School, where he teaches courses on intellectual property and emerging legal issues related to technology and digital transformation. Previously, Gilliéron was a founding partner at TIMES Attorneys, a boutique law firm specializing in technology, intellectual property, and digital law. His experience includes senior roles at firms such as Wilhelm Gilliéron Avocats and Troller Hitz Troller.
